In times of increasing housing shortage and the almost unregulated development of rents, the business model and social philosophy of housing cooperatives has become a benchmark for urban housing construction. To reflect the brand’s role as a leading example for sustainable urban housing concepts we updated its visual identity.

After successfully building a clear, emotional brand presence over the last 5 years, it has become increasingly important to show rational yet impressive facts and figures as part of the brand. They prove how important BVE is for the metropolis of Hamburg. This new strategic basis required a sophisticated refreshment of the visual identity system.
Tightly coordinated with the brand idea — to create a fair and sustainable living space — the design elements reflect the purpose of the BVE. We use typography to explain facts rationally, but also to make the emotional associations with the brand visible through a lively visual concept. The design is complemented by a powerful color palette that is also suitable for high contrast in digital applications.
